Summary

Are you a confident, patient and resilient individual with a passion for supporting young people? As the dedicated Secondary Recruitment Consultant for Hays Education in Nottingham, I'm working with a local secondary school seeking a committed Behaviour Support Worker to join their team on a full‑time, long‑term basis after half-term.This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to students who need additional guidance, structure and encouragement to succeed in school.

About the Role

In this long‑term position, you will:

  • Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs and behavioural difficulties
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and SEN departments
  • Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Implement behaviour strategies and de‑escalation techniques
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students

The school offers a supportive team, clear behaviour policies and ongoing guidance to help you thrive in the role.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH needs (school, youth work, care, sports coaching etc.)
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A calm, patient and proactive approach
  • Ability to build rapport and motivate students
  • Resilience and confidence when managing challenging situations

(Experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.)
