This opportunity would suit an experienced HV professional with full SAP authorisation up to 33kV, who combines strong operational leadership with hands-on technical expertise and client engagement skills.
The Role
As Senior HV Maintenance Manager, you will take ownership of contracted HV maintenance services, managing both planned preventative works and reactive/emergency call-outs. You will ensure all activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the delivery of HV maintenance works in line with Distribution Safety Rules and company H&S policies
• Act as SAP up to 33kV, including switching operations, fault diagnosis, and emergency response
• Plan and coordinate engineers, subcontractors, and resources to ensure effective service delivery
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the HV maintenance team
• Ensure works are completed to quality, programme, and commercial expectations
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, proactively managing service performance
• Produce accurate forecasting, reporting, and programme updates
• Drive continuous improvement across maintenance processes and systems
• Participate in a 24/7 standby rota, providing senior-level technical decision-making during incidents
• Support business development activity through technical input into proposals and client discussions
About You
• Fully authorised SAP up to 33kV
• Extensive experience within HV maintenance operations
• Strong working knowledge of industry standards and statutory compliance
• Demonstrable leadership experience within an HV environment
• Commercial awareness and experience managing client relationships
• Calm, decisive, and solutions-focused, particularly in live operational situations
