Crynodeb
You will be responsible for investigating reports of harassment and illegal evictions along with other new tenancy related offences introduced by the Renters Rights Act 2025. The role also involves providing advice to landlords to assist in compliance with their legal obligations and where necessary take enforcement action. Enforcement action will include the preparation of civil penalty notices and prosecution files. You will also assist with the private sector housing functions of the service and will be required to assess properties for hazards and take the necessary steps to ensure compliance.
Knowledge of private sector housing enforcement methods, legislation, regulation and codes of practice is essential. Knowledge of issuing licences in private sector housing is desirable.
This full-time post would be suitable for experienced officers or graduates seeking Local Authority experience.
The salary is career graded offering progression for relevant experience and qualifications.
