Nursery Practitioner – Lunch Cover Role
Location: Shooting Stars Nursery, Bromsgrove, B61 0AE
Salary: up to £13.40 per hour
Contract: Part‑time | 11:30am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday
Hours: 15 hours/week | All year round | Closed on bank holidays
Are you a warm, reliable and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner looking for a part‑time role that makes a real impact? At Shooting Stars Bromsgrove, we are seeking a dedicated Lunch Cover Practitioner to support our nursery team during the busy midday period.
This is an important role working across the setting to ensure that children receive high‑quality care, meaningful interactions and a calm, nurturing lunchtime experience.
What We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking a caring and confident practitioner who is:
- Level 3 qualified in Early Years (full & relevant)
- Experienced within a children’s day nursery environment
- Knowledgeable about the EYFS and confident supporting children across age groups
- Familiar with safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Warm, positive and passionate about building trusting relationships
- Able to work collaboratively and adapt to the needs of different rooms
As our Lunch Cover Practitioner, you will:
- Support staff and children across the nursery rooms as needed
- Provide high‑quality care, supervision and interaction during lunchtime
- Assist with routines including mealtimes, sleep/rest periods and transitions
- Help maintain a safe, calm and stimulating environment
- Contribute to the children’s wellbeing and positive daily experiences
