Summary
Drawing up rotas Communicating with staff to ensure rota cover Amending/updating the job plan accordingly when problems with rotasoccur, by re-allocating staff to enable the service to run efficiently Processing weekly staff rotas recording holidays weekly and sickness Be aware of and propose changes to practice policy as need be provide feedback on practice policy in order to implement any changes required Train New starters in phlebotomy, and customer care, medical students in phlebotomy technique/ blood tubes Record phlebotomy activity on a daily basis, i.e. amount of bloods taken and number of patients Collect in daily numbers for department, wards, clinics, occasionally rosters, and bank forms Paper based filing system (facts and figures) Dealing with staff complaints/ patient complaints Dealing with patients presenting without documentation , contacting GPsurgery to confirm tests required and completing documentation accordingly. Interpretation of request on forms, assessing the workload of particular areas and allocating the appropriate number of staff to that area.
