Summary
We are currently recruiting two experienced Domestic Violence Specialists (IDVAs) in St Helens on behalf of our well-established social housing client, to support their Domestic Violence Service. These roles are minimum 3-month contracts, with competitive pay of up to £24 per hour.
Both positions are full-time (37 hours per week) and offer hybrid working (2-3 days a week in office), with some flexibility required to travel to different locations when needed, this may include meeting with clients, attending MARACs, or working alongside partner agencies.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide specialist support to victims of domestic abuse, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Complete DASH/MERIT risk assessments and develop robust safety and support plans.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, offering emotional and practical support.
- Attend and contribute to MARAC meetings where required.
- Triaging new referrals and providing immediate safety planning advice
- Manage and progress a caseload of clients, coordinating multi‑agency support
- Support the wider duty function, including answering incoming calls and responding to self‑referrals (phone and face‑to‑face).
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partner agencies to reduce risk and promote client safety.
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records in line with service standards.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience supporting victims of domestic abuse in an IDVA or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of DASH/MERIT risk assessments, and relevant legislation including the Domestic Abuse Act and Family Act.
- Experience attending and contributing to MARAC.
- The ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- A multi‑agency working approach and excellent communication skills.
