Nurture Room SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting as soon as possible

Duties as Nurture Room SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored support within the nurture room for pupils with a range of SEND needs
  • Support emotional regulation, social development, and routine building
  • Work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis to reinforce key learning
  • Assist with structured interventions and therapeutic activities
  • Implement behaviour and support plans consistently
  • Create a calm, safe, and predictable environment for pupils
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal Nurture Room SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Strong SEND experience, especially with SEMH and nurture‑based support
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Confident supporting pupils who may be dysregulated or anxious
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable implementing routines, behaviour plans, and regulation strategies
