Summary

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA – Year 3) – Preston

Humly is recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a primary school on a long-term, maternity cover basis.

This is a part-time role starting 23 February 2026 and continuing until 17 July 2026, working Wednesdays and Thursdays. This role would suit a confident HLTA who can provide consistency, strong classroom leadership, and high-quality teaching in the class teacher’s absence.

What You’ll Be Doing

Deliver high-quality teaching to a Year 3 class in the class teacher’s absence

Plan and prepare lessons in line with the curriculum and school guidelines

Support pupils’ learning and development through targeted interventions

Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment

Assess pupils’ progress and provide feedback to support their academic growth

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Strong understanding of primary education and Year 3 curriculum

Ability to provide leadership and maintain consistency in the classroom

Excellent behaviour management skills

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Pay

£17.21 per hour

Important Information

Working pattern: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8:30am – 4:00pm (1-hour lunch)

Start date: 23 February 2026

Primary school-based position

Enhanced DBS required (Humly can support at a cost to the educator)
