Summary
Independent Domestic Violence Advisor / IDVA Victims’ Support Worker
A rewarding opportunity for a qualified or aspiring IDVA to deliver Regional frontline domestic abuse support, risk assessment and safety planning within a multi-agency framework. You will manage a caseload of high-risk cases and advocate for victims and their children across the region.

The organisation is looking for a qualified / unqualified IDVA (training may be provided for the right candidate).
SALARY: £25,282 to £28,861 per annum (dependent upon qualifications and experience) + Benefits
LOCATION: This role will cover Sandwell, Walsall and Dudley areas

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm (37.5 hours per week)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor / IDVA Victims' Support Worker to provide specialist domestic abuse advocacy and crisis intervention across community settings.
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor / IDVA Victims' Support Worker you will support high-risk victims through risk assessment, safety planning and multi-agency partnership working, including MARAC. You will deliver client-centred casework, trauma-informed support and safeguarding interventions.
The Independent Domestic Violence Advisor / IDVA Victims' Support Worker will manage a varied caseload, empower survivors through one-to-one and group work, and liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies to reduce risk and improve outcomes for victims and their children.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Independent Domestic Violence Advisor / IDVA Victims' Support Worker include:
• Risk Assessment and Safety Planning: Identify and assess risk using recognised tools and develop tailored safety plans for victims and their children
• Case Management: Manage a complex caseload of high-risk domestic abuse cases, ensuring accurate record keeping and timely interventions
• Advocacy and Representation: Represent victims at Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) and liaise with external partners
• Crisis Intervention: Provide proactive short to medium-term crisis support to increase safety and reduce harm
• Multi-Agency Partnership Working: Work collaboratively with safeguarding, housing, health and criminal justice professionals
• Court and Meeting Attendance: Support victims at criminal and civil court and attend child protection conferences and core groups as required
• Group Work Facilitation: Deliver awareness sessions and group programmes to empower survivors
• Safeguarding Compliance: Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns relating to adults and children in line with policy
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• IDVA qualification or previous experience in domestic abuse or sexual violence support
• Previous experience in managing complex casework including safeguarding and crisis intervention
• Proven experience of conducting risk assessments, safety planning and advocacy within a multi-agency setting
• Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic abuse, Violence Against Women and Girls strategy and trauma-informed approaches
• Experience with supporting vulnerable adults and children using a client-centred approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing for MARAC or similar forums
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work to deadlines using a structured approach
• Confident use of Microsoft Office, databases and virtual platforms including Teams
• Eligible to work in the UK
DESIRABLE
• Qualification equivalent to Level 3 in a relevant subject such as health and social care
• Experience of facilitating group work
• Knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse
• Full driving licence with access to a vehicle
