Summary

Your new company
You will be working as part of Solihull's Employment and Skills Team-an established service dedicated to supporting young people across the borough. The team works collaboratively, providing a structured yet friendly environment where staff are well-supported and trained. You'll benefit from shadowing, guidance, and ongoing support to help you succeed in this community‑based role. This opportunity is ideal for candidates motivated by helping young people re‑engage, and for those who bring confidence, strong communication skills, and a positive approach to outreach work.
Your new role
In this Outreach Engagement Worker role, you'll work directly within the community to connect with young people aged 16-24 who are currently NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training). You'll never work alone: all visits are completed alongside an existing member of the outreach team, and a full warning marker system ensures you are never sent to any flagged or unsafe addresses. You'll typically meet at the Council House or Recruitment & Training Centre at the start of each shift, then work flexibly for 15-20 hours per week, ideally between 10am and 4pm, though hours can be arranged to suit. You'll manage around 30-35 priority cases, reporting outcomes to the DfE while keeping interactions welcoming and supportive.
