Summary
Job Introduction
Landmarc Support Services is looking for a Training Area Operatives to join our team at Lydd Camp. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who enjoys working outdoors and wants to play a vital role in supporting the UK Armed Forces.
You’ll help maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable training environment for military personnel. No previous experience is required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. We provide full training, ongoing development and excellent career progression.
Shifts run between: 07:00 - 23:30 from Monday to Sunday.
Hours of work: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent
Annual Allowances: £1,127.50 for working weekends
Location:Lydd Camp, Lydd, Romney Marsh, Kent, TN29 9JR. Also to support atHythe Ranges, Reachfields, Hythe, Kent CT21 6QD if required.
Assessment Centre: Thursday 26th and Friday 27th March

Main Responsibilities
- Maintaining the Defence Training Estate to a high standard
- Handing over and taking back range facilities to and from military units
- Carrying out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance
- Supporting safe place duties, including lookout, barrier, gate and driver tasks
- Setting up safe areas such as flag runs and beach clearance
- Operating and maintaining plant and equipment (full training provided)
- Manufacturing and deploying targets
- Driving and operating fleet vehicles
- Using warning systems including control offices, flags and lights
- Completing documentation using both IT and paper-based systems
The Ideal Candidate
Knowledge of landscape maintenance
- Confidence using hand and power tools, with basic building repair and woodworking skills
- Strong communication skills
- Basic IT ability, including using a tablet
- A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, varied environment
- Understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Experience with ride-on mowers, brushcutters, strimmers or ATVs is desirable but not essential
- A valid manual UK driving licence is essential for this role
