Are you a patient, resilient, and caring Behaviour Mentor with a genuine passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are currently partnering with a friendly and inclusive specialist school in Warrington that is looking to welcome a committed SEMH Behaviour Mentor to their supportive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who benefit from consistency, encouragement, and guidance to succeed both academically and personally.
While prior classroom experience is not essential, you should have a solid understanding and awareness of SEN/SEMH needs.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
- Build positive relationships with students, recognising their individual needs and providing tailored support during lessons.
- Apply effective behaviour management strategies to encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support a well-rounded approach to each student's progress and development.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Mentor supporting students with additional needs is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students through patience and empathy.
- Adaptability in responding to varying needs and adjusting support strategies accordingly.
- A team-oriented mindset and commitment to contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional, child related references covering the last two years.
