Sunderland Greyhound Stadia is a premier racing venue, hosting thrilling greyhound action five days a week—Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
We offer a top-tier hospitality experience, featuring private boxes and restaurants, making us a popular destination for racegoers, celebrations, and corporate events.
With an exciting atmosphere, a packed race schedule, and a strong community following, we’re a dynamic venue that thrives on delivering great entertainment and exceptional service.
About the role:
Make sure the cleaning schedule is completed and the paddock area is clean and tidy.
Assist in the smooth running of all kennel procedures, in accordance with the GBGB Rules of Racing.
Communicate well within the paddock area and racing office during a race meeting in order that time constraints are met.
Develop a good working relationship with stewards, trainers, kennel staff and everyone associated with the paddock area.
Scanning microchips, checking ear marks and racing jackets of dogs to ensure correct dog identity for each race/trial.
Help to ensure the strict control and security of the kennel area, as set out in the GBGB Rules of Racing.
Good greyhound welfare knowledge and offer a high level of support to the greyhound welfare officer.
Be vigilant to keep kennel/paddock area a safe working environment, adhering to risk assessments.
Adhere to PPE working guidelines, wearing full uniform at all times.
Assist with greyhound safety at strategic points around the track during a race.
Ensure issues are raised with your line manager swiftly and all maintenance issues are reported.

There are usually a range of shifts available and opportunities for work are based on busy seasons and the annual racing calendar. Positions will be allocated on the day as part of the briefing.
