Summary
Who are we:
Think Ahead Stroke is a local charity based in Ince, Wigan. We are dedicated to improving the lives of stroke survivors, their carers and families by rebuilding health, hope and confidence through support, advice and friendship.
Purpose of the Job:
To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Think Ahead Team: enabling Stroke Survivors and their Carers to access a robust programme of activities and events.
What will you bring to the role:
· A strong organisational approach while being understanding of the needs of our service users.
· To be confident and experienced in administration and able to support senior management with day-to-day duties.
· You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth running of daily operations alongside the operational manager, from managing paperwork, handling calls, emails and visitors.
· Maintain an organised filing systems and records.
· Prepare letters, reports and general correspondence including documenting meeting minutes .
· Organising room booking and room preparation for both for internal and external organisations.
· Meeting and greeting service users, collaborative partners and other visitors to the organisation
· Being a presence within the reception area to direct any visitors to the building.
· Supporting with the production of a monthly newsletter for service users.
· Attending promotional events as and when required
· Attending fundraising events as and when required
· Any other tasks commensurate with experience to support Think Ahead Team to provide a robust programme of activities and events
· Attend all necessary training offered by Think Ahead or other partner agencies
Skills and experience
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Ability to manage time and workload efficiently
· Skilled in multitasking and prioritising to meet deadlines
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Professional and polite telephone manner
· Active listening skills to understand instructions and take notes
· Ability to build relationships and work well within a small team
· Proficiency in office software such as the Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, PowerPoint)
· Problem solving abilities
· To understand funding on a charity (desirable)
