Summary
Day to day management of the setting, ensuring child and staff safety and wellbeing.
▪ Curriculum Implementation: Create and maintain a safe, stimulating and exciting
environment for both children and staff. Develop and support staff to deliver age
appropriate activities and ensure the highest standards and quality of care are upheld.
▪ Manage and maintain staff records - including training, DBS and Ofsted requirements
and any other relevant accreditations and certifications.
▪ Lead recruitment of pre-school staff, including advertising, interviewing and collating
feedback.
▪ Liaise with the pre-school committee, as per the Charities Commission guidance.
▪ Lead responsibility for ensuring detailed records are held and maintained to
demonstrate compliance with safeguarding, funding and audit regulations
▪ Lead responsibility for parent / carer communications on all matters relating to the preschool – including concerns and complaints and promoting the setting.
▪ Manage and support pre-school staff, including inductions for new staff members and
ensuring training and professional development requirements are met in a timely
manner. Ensure staff hours, holidays and sickness are tracked and managed suitably.
Hold regular 1-2-1 and training / professional development reviews to ensure preschool progression.
▪ Coordinate the management of all pre-school supplies, including resources, first aid
equipment and food are monitored and replaced as appropriate, in conjunction with
the deputy managers and finance administrator.
▪ Strategic Growth: Develop and implement ideas to improve the pre-school, including
curriculum related activities and enrolment numbers.
