Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to join our Barnsley Services on a permanent, full time basis (37.5 hours per week).

We’re looking for an experienced manager to lead a team of support workers and oversee three services in Barnsley. You’ll bring strong experience supporting people with complex needs and working with families and partner agencies to create effective support plans. Your leadership will help each person live a happy, fulfilled life in their community.

As part of the role, you’ll report to the Area Operations Manager and be responsible for developing and managing your team, ensuring high‑quality service delivery. You’ll be self‑motivated, confident under pressure, and able to make tough decisions when needed.

Strong relationship‑building skills are essential. You’ll act as a positive role model, support your team, and maintain a high standard of practice.

To succeed, you’ll need experience in social care—particularly with autism, mental health, and behaviours that challenge. Experience leading Learning Disability teams is essential, and knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support is an advantage. IT competence is required.

The role is flexible across a 7‑day rota, including some weekends, and you must be able to travel between sites. You may occasionally need to cover frontline support in emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the service is fully compliant
- Practice Management
- Observing staff to ensure high standards are continuously met
- Ensure all Health & Safety regulations are met
- Liaising with the families and other stakeholders of the people we support
- Ensuring the continuous development of the team.
- Strong leadership is key to the success of our services.

We want to recruit leaders who can demonstrate they have the potential to excel within our team orientated workplace. In return, we are committed to developing your potential even further.

*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
