What skills and experience we're looking for
Required from September 2026 or sooner, an enthusiastic, committed and ambitious teacher of Music with qualified teacher status to join a successful, inspirational and vibrant team.
At Ashmole Academy the Music Department is very well resourced and is supported by a full-time Music Manager, enabling us to run a very busy co-curricular schedule, including two orchestras, string ensembles, several choirs and student-led bands. Over 300 students participate in some form of co-curricular musical activity. Twenty school places are awarded each year for musical aptitude and we provide numerous opportunities to participate in performance masterclasses, including jazz and chamber music as well as regular school trips. The department has three classrooms, (one of which contains a suite of 20 computers with composing software) and four practice rooms. We offer music both at GCSE and A Level and have achieved some fantastic results for our students, with 67% of our students achieving a score 7 or above last year in their music GCSE.
