Summary

Join us as a Vice President in Portfolio Management

  • In this prominent role, you’ll work with stakeholders to build customer relationships and deliver best-in-market customer experiences within our Speciality Finance sector team.
  • You’ll provide effective risk and portfolio management to a complex set of customers
  • You’ll be able to really make this role your own, allowing excellent exposure for you and your work

What you'll do

You’ll be adding real value to the client agenda by being part of the frontline client team, delivering credit stewardship of debt solutions. You’ll assume prime responsibility for non-origination activities and actively manage the overall sector portfolio, considering risks, capital allocation and other commercial factors.

We’ll also look to you to coach team members in managing their portfolios.

Other duties will include:

  • Performing best-in-class credit stewardship, transaction execution and customer service
  • Driving delivery of financial metrics while minimising incidences of bad debts
  • Acting as a mentor and coach to more junior team members by sharing best practice and providing relevant coaching
  • Identifying and managing risks including proactive management of problem loans, data quality and portfolio reporting
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure seamless customer experience

The skills you'll need

You’ll already have broad experience of the banking industry including in a regulatory and commercial environment. You’ll need a working knowledge of relevant legal policies, regulatory and statutory obligations and risk management. Additionally, you’ll be expected to have good knowledge of how best to coach and develop others. A diploma in lending skills would be beneficial but not required.

We’ll also want to see:

  • Experience of analysing complex financial information and the ability to identify appropriate solutions
  • Good credit skills suitable for stewardship of portfolio management finance company customer exposures
  • A deep understanding and significant experience in the application of risk management disciplines
  • A strong internal and external stakeholder network with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaboration to ensure the team deliver responses within agreed deadlines
  • Experience of managing and prioritising multiple deadlines and stakeholder expectations
  • Experience of undertaking quality risk assessments across a range of lending requests, articulating balanced recommendations and approval decisions, and exercising sound judgement with thought and integrity
  • Customer consideration through all aspects of the risk assessment process allowing fair outcomes for our customers, whilst keeping the Bank’s purpose in mind
