Nuffield Health is the charity that's building a healthier nation, one day at a time. From award-winning hospitals and leisure facilities to flagship community programmes - we'll do whatever it takes to look after the UK's wellbeing. It starts with passion and commitment to quality. It starts with you.
We're looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join our Data & Integration Squad, a cross-functional team at the heart of Nuffield Health's technology transformation. You'll work closely with Data Engineers, Integration SMEs, Product Owners, and Solution Architects to investigate and document our current technical landscape, laying the foundation for secure, scalable upgrades across the organisation.
This is a pivotal role within a squad that underpins the systems Nuffield Health relies on every day. You'll explore how software, hardware, databases, and servers interact, identify risks and dependencies, and help shape the technical roadmap that supports future innovation and resilience.
Key Responsibilities

-
Map existing data structures, workflows, and dependencies across multiple systems and environments

-
Perform SQL-based data extraction and document transformation logic/rules to support analysis and migration activities
-
Produce detailed, complex data mapping documents to support ETL processes and facilitate stakeholder understanding
-
Demonstrate adaptability across diverse platforms and tools, quickly mastering unfamiliar environments
-
Analyse RESTful endpoints to understand structure, parameters, and response formats for integration planning
-
Conduct data mapping between source and target systems, ensuring compatibility and alignment with business logic
-
Use tools like Postman to make RESTful calls, test endpoints, and validate payloads during integration testing
-
Design and interpret API contracts, including schema definitions, authentication methods, and error handling protocols
-
Apply foundational API knowledge to support integration design, including REST principles, JSON structures, and common patterns
What We're Looking For
-
Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst (or similar) within transformation, integration, or infrastructure programmes (3-5 years minimum)
-
Strong experience working with systems and infrastructure, including the ability to reverse-engineer undocumented environments and map complex data flows
-
Proficient in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation, with hands-on experience in data migration and replatforming initiatives
-
Familiarity with databases, server architecture, and system integrations; confident working with architects and technical SMEs
-
Skilled in producing detailed data mapping documents and translating legacy logic into reusable templates and documentation
-
Comfortable navigating tools such as Snowflake, Talend, SQL Server, and Postman to interrogate data and validate integrations
-
Strong foundational API knowledge, including REST principles, JSON structures, and integration patterns
-
Excellent analytical and documentation skills - able to simplify complex technical environments into structured, actionable outputs
-
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences
-
Experience in healthcare is advantageous but not essential
-
Confident working in a hybrid, fast-moving environment, managing ambiguity and competing priorities
Personal Attributes
-
A self-starter, comfortable taking ownership and working proactively
-
Collaborative and open, with a strong team ethic
-
Detail-focused yet pragmatic, able to balance analysis with delivery
