We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join a warm and caring secondary education environment with excellent facilities and a highly supportive SEND team.
As a Teaching Assistant you will provide classroom support, SEN support and behaviour management assistance, helping to promote student progress, safeguarding and positive learning development across the curriculum.
The Teaching Assistant will work collaboratively with teaching staff, contribute to curriculum support and may develop specialisms in ELSA, Numeracy or Forest Schools, depending on skills and interests discussed at interview.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Teaching Assistant include:
• Classroom Support: Assist teachers with lesson delivery, preparation of teaching resources and curriculum support
• SEN Support: Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, adapting approaches to individual learning styles
• Behaviour Management: Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, focused learning environment
• Student Progress Monitoring: Support assessment activities and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Pastoral Care: Offer encouragement and guidance to students to support wellbeing and inclusion
• Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SEND colleagues and support staff to deliver coordinated learning support
• Safeguarding: Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of children and young people
• Specialist Development: Contribute to ELSA, Numeracy or Forest Schools provision where appropriate
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Experience with classroom support, SEN support or student mentoring in an education setting
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
• Energetic, enthusiastic and positive approach with a flexible attitude to work
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A sound level of education including GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
• A belief that every child deserves the very best opportunities to succeed
