Summary
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Support:
• Assist teachers in preparing and delivering lessons.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, ensuring they stay on task.
• Help students with their assignments and projects.
• Support students with special educational needs, adapting materials and methods as necessary.
• Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers.
• Assist in managing classroom behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Implement behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher.
• Address any behavioral issues in accordance with school policies.
• Assist with administrative duties such as taking attendance, grading assignments, and maintaining student records.
• Prepare and organize teaching materials and resources.
• Help set up and clean up the classroom before and after lessons.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
• Collaborate with other teaching assistants and support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
• Relevant certifications or training in education or child development (Preferred but not essential).
• Previous experience working with secondary school students is preferred.
• Previous experience in a classroom setting or educational environment is an advantage.
Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (Essential).
• Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools (Preferred).
