Summary
The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience and clear professional boundaries, effectively operating within a challenging yet rewarding environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for accurately representing patient needs with integrity and sensitivity, as well as for providing guidance, support, and expertise in complex and high-risk cases. The successful applicant will offer in-reach services to Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABuHB) inpatient wards, Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen (BGT) Mental Health Teams, and specialist community teams.
As a reflective practitioner, you will conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for individuals experiencing complex, high-risk forensic mental health conditions. This includes advanced risk evaluations and evidence-based interventions. The role requires collaborating with both inpatient and community multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) within BGT to promote optimal patient care.
A commitment to maintaining ongoing professional development and delivering a high standard of service, including wellbeing and support initiatives, is essential for this position.
PLEASE NOTE
This post covers the counties of Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen and primarily based in the Gwent Forensic Service, St Cadocs Hospital Caerleon.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive pre-employment screening process will be undertaken which will include an Enhanced Disclosure with Child and Adult Barred List.
