Your Impact: Key Responsibilities


  • Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage a dedicated portion of the Commercial Group, prioritizing activity to meet business objectives.
  • Market Engagement: Drive a competitive landscape by engaging with suppliers across the full procurement lifecycle—from pre-market engagement to post-contract award.
  • Compliance & Risk: Ensure all activities align with appropriate legislation, procurement regulations, and Government best practices.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Translate complex commercial decisions into relatable concepts for senior stakeholders, securing buy-in for critical business needs.
  • Capability Building: Coach and develop colleagues to increase commercial capability across the organisation.


What You’ll Bring (Person Specification)


  • Professional Status: You hold (or are actively working towards) MCIPS or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Procurement Expertise: Proven experience in procuring goods/services and contract management within a complex environment.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: A solid understanding of Government Frameworks and Crown Commercial Service (CCS) guidelines.
  • Technical Skill: Proficiency in MS Excel and experience in presenting commercial training content.
  • Mindset: A strong customer focus, the ability to make robust decisions under pressure, and a proactive "ownership" approach to problem-solving.
