About the Service

Sense Scotland supports adults with communication support needs and/or physical or learning disabilities to live independently within their own homes across Ayrshire. We currently provide Care at Home and Housing Support to five individuals, with small, dedicated teams built around each person to ensure consistency and personalised support.

Our services run 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday, offering a flexible and rewarding working pattern.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping people live full and meaningful lives. Day‑to‑day support may include:

>Assisting with communication and daily routines
>Supporting mobility, personal care, and eating/drinking where required
>Understanding and responding to behaviour‑based communication (full training provided)
>Encouraging social activities and community connection
>Working closely with families and colleagues to ensure high‑quality, person‑centred support
>Ensuring individual health needs are met and recorded appropriately
>No two days are the same, and you’ll have the opportunity to bring your own interests, ideas, and creativity into the role.

A driving licence is desirable as the people we support have access to their own vehicles. Some 1:1 working is required, with strong peer and managerial support available.

About You
We’re looking for individuals who are:

>Caring, enthusiastic, and committed
>Great team players with good communication skills
>Organised and able to use their initiative
>Patient, understanding, and dependable
>Willing to learn and confident in trying new things
>Experience in social care is welcome but not essential—we provide full training, induction, and regular supervision.

Why Work With Us?

>A highly rewarding role where you make a real difference
>Supportive team environment with strong mentoring
>Comprehensive training and ongoing development
>Opportunities to build meaningful, long‑term relationships with the people you support

If you’re passionate about helping others, value the power of a smile, and want a role where you can support people to enjoy the activities they love, we’d love to hear from you—whether you’re experienced in care or looking to start a new career.
