Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative CAMHS ADHD Practitioner to work within our ADHD pathway in Tower Hamlets CAMHS as part of our wait list initiative work. Tower Hamlets is a socially and ethnically diverse borough in East London. Our ADHD referrals have increased rapidly, and we are seeking additional staffing to provide good quality assessments to our children, young people and families. This post is open to applicants from all the core professions: Psychology, Family Therapy, Psychotherapy, Nursing, Social Work and Occupational Therapy.

Tower Hamlets Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is based in Whitechapel, East London. The service embraces continual improvement and the wellbeing of staff and has a high degree of enthusiasm for quality improvement and working together with partner agencies to provide the highest quality service to the population we serve.

The ADHD pathway is a small, committed team currently comprising of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Band 8a Nurse Prescriber (0.4 wte), Speciality Doctor (0.4 wte) and Physician Assistant (1 wte). We are an innovative and supportive team who place quality improvement and people participation at the core of our outcomes focussed delivery of assessment and treatment.

The post-holder will be expected to:
• To offer assessment and flexible, evidence-based and outcome focused episodes of care and interventions to children/young people and families within the ADHD pathway.

• Conduct initial specialist ADHD triage assessments and liaise with our triage team, assist our service users in moving smoothly through the referral, treatment and discharge processes within the Tower Hamlets CAMHS service and to and from other services in their designated Borough. They will play a pivotal role in ensuring that families experience ease of entry to and a seamless transition between services, and that they feel supported to access the right service at the right time even when their needs are complex and may involve input from multiple teams.

• To have a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management and will be required to account for their professional practice through appraisal and audit.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
