Kew Green Hotels / Holiday Inn Rugby is presenting an opportunity for a candidate to enrol in a Guest Service Assistant Apprenticeship as part of their job application. As a Guest Service Assistant, you are responsible for ensuring every guest receives a safe and outstanding experience throughout their stay. You will support the hotel in achieving all brand and company metrics and objectives by delivering consistent, high-quality service across all guest-facing areas.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Supporting your front of house team, you will be responsible for delivering an efficient, effective and profitable service, ensuring brand standards are met. As part of the apprenticeship program, you will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced Hospitality Manager.
Your duties will include;
Deliver an outstanding service experience to guests throughout their stay across Front Office, Food & Beverage and Meetings & Events.
Engage with guests to build positive relationships, assessing needs and flexing approach appropriately.
Ensure all repeat guests, priority members and VIPs receive recognition and appreciation.
Be attentive to guests, anticipating needs and exceeding expectations at every opportunity.
Respond promptly to guest feedback and complaints, taking ownership to resolve issues and turn
around negative experiences.
Actively seek opportunities to continuously improve the guest experience.
Remain open to learning new skills and working across departments to support business needs.
Adapt to changing priorities and guest requirements.
Contribute ideas and feedback that support continuous improvement.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistent hospitality for every guest.
Process telephone and walk-in reservations accurately and efficiently.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and compliance in line with legislative and brand
requirements.
Keep up to date with hotel facilities, promotions and the local area to assist guests effectively.
Identify opportunities to upsell bedrooms, meetings & events and food & beverage.
Make confident recommendations for upgrades, dining options and breakfast.
Support the hotel’s sales strategy by passing on leads and opportunities to the sales team.
Maintain awareness of hotel availability, promotions and sales initiatives

You will receive onsite training with an award-winning training provider who will support and guide you throughout your Apprenticeship journey.

To become an apprentice, you must:
be 16 or over
not already be in full-time education
You can start an apprenticeship whether you’re starting your career, want a change. You can have a previous qualification like a degree and still start an apprenticeship.
As an apprentice you’ll:
Have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
Learn and train for a specific job
Get paid and receive holiday leave
Get hands-on experience in a real job
Study for at least 20% of your working hours
Complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
