Summary
Cleaning Operative – School Environment
Location: Whitby, Ellesmere Port, CH65
Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour
Start Date: 9th March 2026
Duration: Minimum 6 weeks (potential to be extended)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:30pm – 6:00pm (12.5 hours per week)
Role Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced Cleaning Operative to work within a school environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high cleaning standards across designated areas, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for staff and students.
Duties Will Include
Cleaning classrooms, corridors, and communal areas
Dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and general surface cleaning
Cleaning toilets and washroom facilities
Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
Replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies
Following site cleaning schedules and health & safety procedures
Requirements
Valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential)
Previous school cleaning experience (essential)
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Understanding of COSHH and safe cleaning practices preferred
