A forward-thinking Primary School is seeking a SEND Specialist Teacher to lead and support its in-school alternative provision, working with pupils who require a more tailored and flexible approach to learning.
This is a key role within the school and would suit a teacher with strong SEND, SEMH or inclusion experience who is confident supporting pupils outside of mainstream classroom structures while maintaining high expectations and positive outcomes.
The Role
Leading and delivering teaching within an alternative provision setting
Supporting pupils with complex SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs
Designing personalised learning approaches to meet individual needs
Working closely with senior leaders, SENCO and pastoral teams
Supporting reintegration into mainstream classes where appropriate
Maintaining a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment
Who This Role Is Suitable For
Experienced SEND or inclusion specialist teachers
Teachers with SEMH or alternative provision experience
Practitioners confident working with vulnerable pupils
Teachers who value relationship-based, child-centred practice
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Strong experience supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs
Confidence working outside of traditional classroom models
Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing
Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
