Prospero Teaching is looking for a caring, confident and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Taunton. You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and helping them to access learning in a safe, structured, and positive environment.
- Provide 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, communication needs, or social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Create a calm, encouraging learning environment where pupils feel safe and supported.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support plans.
- Use strategies to help pupils regulate their emotions, remain on task, and engage positively with learning.
- Support pupils during class, transitions, and playtimes as needed.
- Experience working with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD or SEMH needs.
- A nurturing, patient and resilient approach.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Competitive hourly pay (£14.66-£16.56).
- Weekly pay and a dedicated consultant (Jay).
- Free, ongoing CPD including behaviour management, safeguarding and SEN training.
- Supportive onboarding and regular check-ins.
