Summary

We are seeking a Childcare Practitioner (ASN) within our specialist out of school clubs for children and young people with complex and profound additional support needs.

The job involves working with young people aged 4 to 18 on a 1 to 1 basis to meet their individual care and support needs, while supporting them to engage in a wide range of activities and experiences. This includes, but is not limited to:

activity planning

providing health snacks, including feeding

providing moving and handling

personal and intimate care

administration of medication (routine and emergency)

The Person

As a Childcare Practitioner (ASN), you will support a wide range of ages and needs throughout the session.

Therefore, we are looking for someone who:

Is fun, engaging, adaptable, passionate about working with children and young people

Has experience of working with children and young people within a play, care or learning setting

Is willing to work towards the SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or already holds a suitable qualification

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain a Level 2 Disclosure with PVG. This will be actioned as part of your pre-employment checks.

As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.

If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible, so you’re registered within the required six months.

If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.
