Summary

Room Leader – Up to £34,000 – 40 Hours per Week



This Room Leader role is a hands-on leadership position within a well-established nursery rated Good by Ofsted. You’ll take full responsibility for your room, setting the standard for practice, organisation, and child experience, while working closely with senior leadership to keep the day running smoothly.



The nursery operates from a purpose-designed building with a private garden and Forest School, offering children a varied, active learning environment that blends structure with warmth. Days are busy, practical, and focused on delivering consistent, high-quality early years care.



Before You Apply



  • This role requires recent experience as a Room Leader in an Early Years setting.

  • A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential.

  • This position is not suitable for candidates without leadership responsibility for a room.

  • Salary: Up to £34,000 per year (depending on experience)

What You’ll Need



  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification

  • Recent experience as a Room Leader in an Early Years setting

  • Strong working knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements

  • Confidence leading a room and making day-to-day decisions



  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff



What You’ll Do



  • Lead the daily running of your room, ensuring high standards of care and education

  • Plan and deliver activities in line with the EYFS

  • Complete observations, assessments, and documentation accurately

  • Support and guide staff within the room, including daily organisation and ratios

  • Maintain safeguarding, health, and safety standards at all times

  • Communicate effectively with parents about children’s progress and daily experiences
