The Deputy General Manager is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimising client relationships across Northwood HQ. The role ensures maximum contract retention, drives customer engagement, and supports best-in-class service delivery across retail and catering operations. The role directly supports Aramark UK’s growth strategy through retention, organic growth, and enhanced client satisfaction.
About the Role As our Deputy General Manager, you’ll be the key point of contact for our customer on site, ensuring exceptional service standards across all contract areas. You’ll champion customer satisfaction, drive continuous improvement, and lead your team to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes.
Working closely with stakeholders at all levels — including military personnel, contractors, and internal teams — you’ll ensure operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and develop strong client relationships across the Northwood HQ estate.
- Accountable for supporting contract retention and organic growth.
- Proactively engage with key stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Champion excellent customer service and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, safety and Aramark standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Client & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain senior client relationships. Develop and manage relationship maps. Identify risks and opportunities. Support re-bid and retention activities.
- Operational Excellence Work with operational teams to ensure service standards. Support retail and catering delivery. Champion customer communication tools. Share best practice.
- Commercial & Financial Management Understand and support P&L performance. Identify growth opportunities. Ensure pricing and tariff compliance. Manage supplier relationships.
- People & Compliance Influence and engage operational teams. Support change management. Ensure hygiene, safety, and legal compliance. Promote collaborative culture.
What We’re Looking For
- Essential criteria Proven track record in client relationship management. Experience within a food service / retail environment. Strong commercial and financial awareness. Excellent communication and influencing skills. Ability to work in complex stakeholder environments.
