The role
Due to expansion and an ever-increasing workload, the Offshore Delivery Directorate within SSEN Transmission has an opportunity for a process focused Digital Information (BIM) Manager to oversee the ISO 19650 aligned planning, governance and assurance of information delivery across a large-scale energy framework in Scotland.
You will play a key role in defining, implementing and continuously improving the frameworks information exchange between multiple stakeholders, ensuring SSEN and our supply chain delivers the right information at the right time. You will work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement and Document Control to embed consistent information management across projects and contracts.
This role is process and governance led; technology and tools are enablers, and only part of the primary focus.
You will
- Support internal stakeholders in the preparation of contract information, PQQs and tender documentation, ensuring clear ISO 19650-aligned information management obligations. This will include reviewing supplier proposals and returns (including BEPs, TIDPs/MIDPs, mobilisation plans and resourcing), confirming they meet the EIR and are deliverable against programme.
- Maintain and govern the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and associated framework documentation, aligned to recognised industry standards and internal governance.
- Act as the focal point for project information management, including supply chain engagement, coordination of queries, and resolution of process / compliance issues across disciplines and work packages. This shall also include coordinating with Project Managers and discipline leads, to ensure information delivery plans align to project milestones etc.
- Work with Document Control for the maintenance of the CDE, including workflow configuration, suitability/status management, revision control, transmittals, and consistent application of Shared/Published principles in line with BS EN ISO 19650.
- Deliver information quality assurance and performance reporting, including routine compliance checks (naming/metadata/status, completeness, approvals) and driving corrective actions with suppliers.
- Provide coaching, guidance and oversight to team members (and support functions) to ensure consistent adoption of ISO 19650 processes and improved supply chain performance. And where required, oversee model-based assurance activities (e.g. interrogation/coordination outcomes) as part of wider information delivery and design assurance.
You have
- Extensive experience as a BIM / Information Manager on major infrastructure projects, with a strong track record of implementing ISO 19650 processes, governance and assurance across multiple stakeholders and suppliers.
- Practical experience developing and managing core information management artefacts and controls, such as EIRs, BEPs, MIDPs/TIDPs etc.
- Strong understanding of how Project Management, Engineering, Commercial and supply chain delivery intersect with Information Management.
- Confident stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and support suppliers and internal teams to improve compliance and delivery performance.
- Experience working in a CDE environment (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360, ProjectWise, Aconex, Asite or similar). Platform knowledge is desirable; process embedment within the CDE is essential, however.
- Understanding of asset / data handover principles and structured information (e.g. classification, information exchanges, data quality) is desirable).
