Shifts: Monday to Friday, 5:00pm - 5:00am (12-hour night shifts)

Are you an experienced Class 1 Driver looking for reliable night shift work?

The Best Connection Eastbourne is recruiting HGV Class 1 Shunter Drivers to join a trusted logistics partner in the Robertsbridge area. This is a great opportunity offering stability, consistent hours, and long-term potential within a busy and professional operation.

Full site induction will be provided for successful candidates.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

  • Safely manoeuvring HGV vehicles and trailers around the yard and loading bays

  • Positioning trailers accurately to support efficient loading and unloading

  • Carrying out routine vehicle and trailer checks

  • Communicating with warehouse and loading teams to coordinate trailer movements

  • Ensuring all movements follow site safety procedures and traffic management plans

  • Recording trailer movements using relevant systems or paperwork

  • Reporting any vehicle or trailer defects promptly

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard environment

Duties may vary depending on operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 (Cat C+E) licence and CPC

  • Previous Class 1 driving or shunting experience required

  • Good understanding of health & safety and site movement procedures

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work efficiently during busy night operations

  • Reliable and professional attitude
