The Headteacher and Governing Body of Griffydam Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, creative and flexible Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our school.The successful candidate will:
Be already experienced in an HLTA role
Be ready to take on the responsibility of leading sessions with children
To be able to confidently cover a class in a teacher’s absence and work from planning
Be patient, sensitive, caring and show commitment.
Be able to develop a good understanding of children’s individual needs and to support their progress in all areas.Experience of nurture groups is desirable but not essential as training will be given
Be a skilled communicator and the ability to understand children’s reactions.
Have the ability to work using their own initiative.
Be hardworking with excellent organisational skills.
Have excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
Be flexible, open to change and positive with a good sense of humour.
Have the highest expectations for all our children and their futures.
Previous experience of leading classes
Experience of working across the primary age range is desirable.
