Summary
Hays are currently working with a SEMH Hospital School in Prestwich who are seeking a HLTA to join their team on a temporary basis. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you'll be part of a compassionate, skilled and innovative team supporting some of the most vulnerable learners in the region. This is a role where your work genuinely changes lives.
About The School
This is a specialist hospital school for young people aged 11-19 who are temporarily unable to access mainstream education due to significant medical or mental health needs. Their students are on roll only while they are patients within CAMHS hospital units, and their staff play a key part in their recovery, continuity of learning and reintegration.
This school provides a safe, nurturing and trauma‑informed learning environment, working in close partnership with mental health specialists, medical teams, psychologists, therapists, families and home schools. Because students come from many different regions and schools, learning is highly personalised, ensuring continuity of education during a hospital stay and supporting a successful reintegration back into their home school or into specialist next steps.
Rate: Up to £135/day DOE
Contract: Temporary until the end of the academic year
