Summary

A Vacancy at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic and suitably qualified physiotherapist with a specialist interest in Lower limb Orthopaedics to join our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatient Therapy team at University College Hospital (UCH).

Working alongside the wider surgical, medical and nursing teams, the successful candidate will have a pivotal role in leading the development and provision of services related to complex lower limb disorders within the Musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy service.

You will be required to have significant previous MSK outpatient experience at Band 7 level including Orthopaedic and Rheumatology patient management. A range of excellent clinical, communication, clinical reasoning and rehabilitative skills appropriate to the caseload are essential and you will be expected to provide an accountable, autonomous and high-quality physiotherapy service.

You should demonstrate evidence of ongoing CPD to a Masters level (Level 7) and be able to work in a flexible manner. As an expert clinician and leader, you will be able to prove your ability to assist in the education, appraisal, training and supervision of less experienced physiotherapy staff, students and other allied health and medical colleagues. We offer support for ongoing personal development, clinical excellence and leadership skills training.

The post holder will focus on the expert management of a physiotherapy clinical caseload of predominantly orthopaedic outpatients with complex Lower Limb conditions. This includes complex surgical and non-surgical patients with pre-habilitation and rehabilitation needs.

You will be working with a team of senior clinicians to help deliver, co-ordinate and evaluate the MSK Physiotherapy service with opportunities to advance and progress service development as well as being involved in research projects. You will facilitate evidence-informed patient care, playing a key role in sharing knowledge with other staff members to support and develop physiotherapy best practice in line with local and national guidelines.

Allied to your clinical work will be managerial and administrative duties, including the operational management of the UCH lower limb rehabilitation classes.

You will be well supported in all your roles by the MSK team including Advanced Practice Physiotherapists, Consultant Physiotherapists, the senior team and Heads of Service.
