• Design bespoke test setups and systems
• Write trials documentation including test plans, method statements and EHS risk assessments
• Lead and participate in system integration, verification and validation activities
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical and electrical systems
• Develop bespoke test software (e.g. MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW) for modelling, data processing and analysis
• Analyse and interpret data to identify meaningful trends and conclusions
• Manage logistics, facilities, subcontractors and test locations
• Engage with customers, stakeholders, engineers and research scientists
• Contribute to bid and proposal activity, including technical solutions and effort estimates
• Deliver work to agreed time, cost and quality targets

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and their integration
• Ability to work independently and manage personal workload effectively
• Good working knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle

Knowledge & Experience (Desirable / Developable)

• 4+ years’ relevant experience
• Experience leading or participating in tests and trials, including EHS responsibilities
• Hands-on experience with integration, verification and validation of prototype hardware
• Experience designing and executing system tests and trials
• Programming experience (e.g. MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW)
• Experience in defence, maritime or naval engineering environments
• Knowledge of naval or marine systems and environmental interactions
• Experience participating in at-sea trials

Personal Attributes

• Professional, reliable and flexible team player
• Proactive, with the confidence to make sound decisions
