An exciting leadership opportunity in a Dynamic experience Orthoptist
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 7 Orthoptist to join our friendly and forward-thinking Orthoptic team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. This is a cross-site role, primarily based between the Royal Free Hospital and Whittington Hospital, providing diverse clinical experience across two vibrant settings.
You will lead the Stroke and Neuro ophthalmology service alongside provide leadership with other services within the orthoptic specialty, contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. You will work closely with a head orthoptist and senior colleagues as well as clinical multidisciplinary team,
As well as support ongoing education, innovation, and service improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
A qualified Orthoptist registered with the HCPC
Significant post-qualification experience, with strong clinical skills across core orthoptic areas
Proven ability to lead or develop a specialist area of practice
Excellent leadership, and organisational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support team building and emotive working environment for the team,.
Lead Stroke service providing in patient and out patient care
Provide and develop clinical orthoptic oversight to the support the ophthalmology service.
Provide advanced orthoptic assessment, diagnosis, and management across a broad range of complex cases.
Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and service development projects.
Support and supervise junior orthoptists and students.
Work autonomously while collaborating within a supportive multi-disciplinary team.
