Summary
Support Worker (Young People 16+)
Location: Poole (with flexibility to work at other sites locally in Bournemouth/Ringwood)
Pay: £13.67 per hour, plus £55 paid sleep‑in per shift
Hours: 37 hours per week, plus sleep-in shifts (average of 3 per week)
Rota: 3 week rolling, inclusive of 8am starts, 11pm finishes, and sleeps

What you’ll do
Support a small group of up to 5 young people in care with life skills, activities, education, prepare for employment and daily routines
Create simple support plans, record clear and concise notes in line with regulations
Keep the home safe, welcoming, clean, tidy and compliant
Lone working; able to confidently manage a shift and overnight sleep by yourself (support via 24/7 emergency ‘on call’ is available to you)
Confidently liaise with external partners such as social workers, local authorities, Police and Ofsted
What you’ll bring
Empathy, patience and a calm, “can‑do” approach
Confidence to work alone and resilience to handle incidents, safeguarding's and other challenges
Experience with young people or other vulnerable groups is essential (paid or voluntary)
Willingness to complete a fully funded NVQ Level 4 in Children & Young People
