Summary of role purpose:

We require a Digital Audit and Analytics (DA&A) Director to lead the direction and day to day management of DA&A engagement teams as we continue to embed more technology and implement enhanced data driven solutions on our audit engagements. This role offers significant exposure to senior internal stakeholders and regular interaction with senior executives across our audited entities.

Description of the role:

Work in teams delivering either financial statement audit; technology audit; audit related data, analytics and tools; independent assurance over other info such as regulatory/ESG/internal controls; learning and development; quality/risk/knowledge management; and/or specialist, technical accounting advice (non-audited entities only).

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading delivery of DA&A audit engagements, developing and showcasing innovative technology solutions, and strengthening relationships with senior audit stakeholders to ensure high‑quality execution. The role plays a key part in advancing the DA&A roadmap, contributing to the global DA&A approach, and shaping the technology narrative in tenders and market‑facing opportunities. The role offers significant exposure to senior internal stakeholders and regular interaction with senior executives across our audited entities. They will drive the expansion of advanced analytics and AI across the audit portfolio and support the growth of new technology‑enabled market opportunities.

Other responsibilities will typically include accountability for leading teams; providing technical, risk & compliance management, operational and quality management support; overseeing project management, budgeting and planning, senior stakeholder management, and analysis and delivery of quality reports; taking part in tenders or proposals; and some performance management responsibilities.

Due to the nature of the position, you may be working at/visiting a client site and/or other KPMG offices.

The person:

Experience and knowledge requirements:

  • Proven track record of leading data, systems, or analytics teams within an audit or assurance environment (E)
  • Deep technical expertise in data, analytics, systems, and technology‑enabled audit approaches (E)
  • Strong experience shaping and delivering innovative data‑led audit solutions across multiple sectors (E)
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge and guide teams on complex technical matters with authority (E)
  • Experience engaging and influencing senior executives, Audit Committees, and senior audit leadership (D)
  • Background in developing technology or analytics roadmaps and driving adoption across large portfolios (E)
  • Prior involvement in tenders, proposals, or market‑facing technology showcases (E)
  • Experience with advanced data techniques, including emerging areas such as AI, and their application in audit (E)

Qualifications:

Relevant degree or equivalent experience in data, analytics, technology, audit, or related field (E)

Certifications in analytics, AI, cloud platforms, or data engineering (D)

A professional accountancy qualification from a recognised accountancy body is desirable but is not essential. (D)
