This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, supportive Speech & Language Therapy Team who will support your development of experience and developing interests. This band 6 post has development opportunities in autistic spectrum disorders and complex special needs
You will be working with school aged children in mainstream settings as link therapist and with pre-school children at Drop in sessions, in clinic and pre school settings. You will be supported by specialist therapists to develop your skills working with children with complex needs or ASD
You will show that you are able to organise, plan and prioritise your own workload, and that of assistant staff; demonstrate the ability to generate appropriate strategies for caseload management. You will have excellent interpersonal skills – including observation, listening and empathy skills, to enable you to work to support the individual needs of the schools, staff and pupils.

The main responsibilities of the post:
1. Toindependently manage and make differential diagnoses for a caseload of clients with delays and disorders of communication, speech and languageand / or moderate/complex/profound communication needs
2. 2.Devise and deliver appropriate specialist intervention / care plans / enhanced models of SLT for clients with delays and disorders of communication, speech and language and provide suitable and timely support.
3.Work as part of the integrated therapies multi-disciplinary team ensuring the delivery of joined up care plans.
4. Contribute to multidisciplinary support for clients with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties.
5. Develop and deliver training and support packages.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period.
Starting with Us
NELFT places great importance on new starters being properly welcomed into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will also have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend several drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes, Essex.
