Summary

During a recent speech at Manion House, the Chancellor announced the creation of a new Listings Taskforce, a cross-government initiative designed to help businesses list and grow in the UK. In partnership with HMT, the OfI is committed to making the UK the top destination for innovative and ambitious businesses to start, scale, and list, driving long-term growth and success.

To deliver on this ambition, we are seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional problem-solving skills, sharp commercial acumen, and the ability to build strong collaborative relationships with industry leaders, key stakeholders, and colleagues across government. You will be based in the OfI’s Deal Making Unit but will work closely with HMT, No10 and Other Government Department’s to ensure to ensure strategic alignment and effective coordination in unlocking investment opportunities for the UK.

As a Grade 7 within the OfI you will play a pivotal role in delivering the objectives of the newly established Listings Taskforce. This will involve:

Setting direction and driving coordination across government departments and industry stakeholders to ensure maximum impact in supporting the UK’s economic growth and competitiveness as a listing destination, achieved through coordinated action and by setting strategic direction.

Managing complex workstreams ensuring delivery against milestones, effective risk management, and robust governance. You will regularly report progress and outcomes to senior officials and Ministers.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management by building and maintaining trusted relationships with senior leaders across industry and government.

Ministerial and Senior Official Briefing by leading the preparation of high-quality briefings and submissions for Ministers, No.10, and senior officials.

Team Leadership and Development by line managing one HEO and more generally fostering a high-performing, inclusive team culture.

Corporate responsibility by contributing to the effective management of the Deal Making Unit. This may include people orientated activities such as resourcing, team budgets and finances and people development.
