About the Direct Payment Holder A warm and loving family in the HP1 area are looking for a female carer to spend quality time with their 10-year-old daughter, who has a rare genetic condition that affects her development, mobility, and health. She is a bright, playful, and affectionate child who enjoys books, games, time in the garden, and days out like trips to the zoo. The right PA will support her through engaging activities while ensuring her safety, comfort, and wellbeing.

Hours and rate of pay Starting at 4 hours per with the potential to build up to 18 hours per week | Weekends | Starting from £16.25 per hour
Location HP1 Area (Hemel Hempstead)
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.

Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Safeguarding Children
• Introduction to first aid / Paediatric first aid
• Health and Safety / Moving and handling

What you would be doing…
This role begins with 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday, with potential to increase hours over time and provide additional support during school holidays once a trusting relationship is built.
Supporting with play, games, reading, and general interaction at home
Over time, taking her out to the park or on short trips (a driver with own car is ideal)
Assisting with eating and drinking, using dysphagia-safe methods and encouraging her to stay engaged during mealtimes
Providing personal care, such as pad changing (after a relationship has been built)
Supporting with medication and, if necessary, assisting with seizure rescue medication.

Required skills and experience

Female Carer with a genuine love of play and working with children
Experience supporting children with special educational needs and health needs
Dysphagia trained, or willing to receive training
Confident supporting feeding, medication, and understanding emergency protocols
A good communicator, with patience and empathy, especially when supporting communication

Ideally a driver with business insurance, though initial support will be home-based
