Summary
The standard hours of work are 37.5 per week.
The salary is dependent on experience.
We are looking for an ambitious and proactive individual to join our Group Finance team as a Management Accountant. You will support the Integral Accounts function with a focus on control account reconciliations, cash and bank processes, daily transaction improvements, and month‑end activities.
This role offers the chance to build and develop your finance experience. You will work closely with wider finance teams across Amey, helping to manage team processes and drive continuous improvements.
We are seeking an analytical thinker with relevant qualifications and experience, plus the motivation to grow your knowledge and enhance our financial processes.
What you will do:
Line management of 3 members of the Integral Accounts team
Production, verification and control of reconciliations performed by the IA team
Bank reconciliations
Inter-company reconciliations
Balance sheet reconciliations and promotions for process improvements
Control priorities and work outputs to achieve reporting deadlines
Oversee the system, process & reporting for the purchasing card process including daily liquidity facility
Processing and reconciliation of Fixed Assets
Processing and reconciliation other nominated balance sheet reconciliations
Managing the payment authorisation process and other transactional cash office duties
Communicate with staff to resolve queries as they arise
Control coding of centralised purchase invoices
Maintain and produce reports for the Integral Accounts team
Ensure National Statistics surveys are completed and returned
Support testing with IT system upgrades and general IT projects
Support with interim and yearly audit requests
Manage the inter-company journal upload process
Maintain teams Winshuttle processes
Control VAT sampling audit
Production and reporting of cash flow forecasts
Report finance information to non-finance in a way that can be understood.
Ability to produce ad hoc information/reports with short notice
Make recommendations to improve current systems and processes.
We want to hear from you if you have:
Part/ Qualified or QBE
Experienced in Management Accounts
Ability to achieve tight deadlines with high degree of quality and understanding
Strong IT Skills including good knowledge of SAP and Excel
Good knowledge of accounting practices, statutory regulations and reporting requirements and experience of forecasting.
Must have excellent communication skills and build strong, positive relationships with all stakeholders
Be proactive and organised to gain the correct information from stakeholders in a timely manner
Be able to work along and in a wider team
