* Ensure care is trauma-informed, child-centred, and promotes emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
* Oversee placement planning, risk assessments, behaviour support plans, and care plans.
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring safeguarding concerns are responded to promptly and appropriately.
* Ensure incidents, restraints (if applicable), and safeguarding matters are recorded, reviewed, and reported correctly.
Staff Management & Development
* Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise residential staff to maintain a skilled and stable workforce.
* Ensure staff receive high-quality training in safeguarding, behaviour management, and trauma-informed practice.
* Manage rotas to ensure safe staffing levels and effective on-call cover.
* Address performance, conduct, and attendance in line with organisational policies.
Partnership Working
* Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, social workers, education providers, and external professionals.
* Ensure children's voices are heard and reflected in care planning and service development.
* Represent the home professionally with local authorities, Ofsted, and commissioning bodies.
Health, Safety & Governance
* Ensure the home provides a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment.
* Oversee health and safety, fire safety, and premises management.
* Maintain accurate records in line with legislation and data protection requirements.
* Manage budgets and resources where applicable.
