About the role:

The University of Lancashire wishes to recruit a Photographic Technician to join our Technical Services team who primarily provide technical support to the wide variety of imaging facilities on our Preston Campus.

Duties will include the set up, operation and maintenance of digital scanning and print equipment and equipment of processes you would expect to find in darkrooms and photography studios. The Photographic Technician will also provide day to day technical support and advice to staff and students in the use of these facilities. Although the successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be the coordination and running of the photographic resources, the role holder will also work as part a team of design technicians and on occasions will be expected to work supporting colleagues across a broad range of course disciplines.

The role holder will also be required to coordinate and undertake installations, maintenance and configuration of equipment and ensure appropriate procedures and practices are followed.

About you:

The successful candidate will need to be practical with a high level of competence in the use and support of a wide range of photographic equipment and techniques, backed up with great communication and customer service skills.

A qualification in Photography or Photographic Technology (ONC, HNC, HND, BSc) or equivalent experiential learning in a related discipline is essential for this role.
