Summary

Secondary English Teacher

Humly is recruiting an English Teacher to join a secondary school on a long-term basis.

This is a full-time role starting after February half-term and continuing for two terms. The role would suit a confident and committed secondary practitioner who is comfortable teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4 and contributing positively to a collaborative department.

What You’ll Be Doing

Delivering engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Supporting pupils’ progress in reading, writing and literary analysis

Establishing clear routines and maintaining positive classroom behaviour

Assessing learning and providing constructive feedback to pupils

Contributing to departmental planning and shared resources

Working collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school expectations

What You’ll Bring

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching English at secondary level

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

Confidence delivering the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum

A professional, reflective approach to teaching and learning

Pay

Paid to scale from day one: £168.80 – £232.57 per day (M1 – M6)
