Function: Technical / Quality / Customer Management
Are you passionate about food quality, technical excellence and building strong, solutions‑focused customer relationships? Do you
thrive in a fast‑paced chilled food environment where product integrity and operational precision are everything?
If you’re driven, commercially aware and excited by the challenge of delivering technical leadership for major UK retailers and
food service customers, this could be your next move.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As Head of Technical Account's, you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day technical management of your nominated
customer accounts. You’ll act as the primary technical liaison—driving standards, supporting site teams, steering innovation, and
ensuring that all products consistently meet the highest levels of safety, legality and quality.
This is a highly visible, customer‑facing role where you’ll influence decision‑makers, collaborate cross‑functionally and help
shape technical strategy across multiple chilled categories.
* Oversee the highest level day‑to‑day technical account management, ensuring exceptional service across all nominated retailer
customers.
* Deliver the technical and business strategy for each customer through collaborative quality improvement plans involving key
stakeholders.
* Take full accountability for the technical performance of your customer portfolio.
* Champion technical innovation, driving forward improvements in processes, products and standards.
* Support in‑house manufacturing sites to deliver both TCFG and customer technical strategies seamlessly.
KEY DUTIES
* Provide daily technical support to the Divisional Technical Directors and Site Technical teams.
* Communicate confidently and effectively at all levels—across teams, functions and the wider business.
* Build strong, trust‑led customer relationships, operating at Technical Manager or Senior Technical/Category Development Manager
level.
* Formulate and deliver strategic technical plans relating to product quality, safety and compliance.
* Work cross‑functionally with Development, Quality, Operations and Commercial teams to ensure successful, on‑time product
launches.
* Provide technical and innovative solutions to product and process challenges.
* Analyse customer performance data, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement.
* Develop and maintain customer compliance and quality plans.
* Lead and coordinate customer visits, audits, pre‑audits and launches, ensuring readiness and compliance.
* Support product design and process development from a technical perspective.
* Carry out any additional reasonable technical tasks required to deliver excellence.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
You will thrive in this role if you:
* Have a strong technical background (7 years+) in chilled food manufacturing or similar environments.
* Are experienced in retailer or food service technical customer management.
* Possess excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills.
* Can analyse data to identify improvements and drive performance.
* Enjoy working cross‑functionally in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
* Bring curiosity, innovation and a proactive mindset to solving technical challenges.
