CNC Machinist / Setter
Ayrshire | Permanent | Day Shift

An established engineering business in Ayrshire is looking to add an experienced CNC Machinist to its machine shop.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident setting up CNC machines, working from technical drawings, and machining components in stainless steel and aluminium. The environment is low-volume, high-quality work with a strong focus on process, accuracy and continuous improvement rather than production firefighting.

You will be working alongside a small team of junior operators, helping to raise standards, improve set-ups, and pass on practical knowledge on the shop floor.

What they're looking for

• Time-served CNC Machinist with solid setting experience

• Strong understanding of stainless steel and aluminium

• Confident reading and working from engineering drawings

• Comfortable carrying out first-off and in-process inspection

• Practical, quality-focused mindset

• Happy mentoring and supporting less experienced operators

• CNC machine set-up and operation

• Supporting process and quality improvements

• Working closely with engineering and quality functions

• Day shift with flexibility on start and finish times

• Overtime available
